Chairman's Restaurant in Berea, Durban is expanding our kitchen team and looking for a Food Prep Assistant to support morning mise en place. Chairman's is a well-established restaurant known for our diverse menu of South African, Indian-influenced, and international dishes. We run a busy kitchen with two sittings nightly. You will assist with: • Vegetable preparation, butchery prep, and sauce bases • Opening kitchen duties from 8am to 4pm shift • Restocking and maintaining prep station cleanliness • Supporting the Commis Chef during busy prep periods Requirements: • Basic kitchen skills and knife handling • Ability to follow recipes and portion control instructions • HACCP food safety awareness (training provided) • Reliable, punctual, and honest No formal culinary qualification required. A willingness to learn and grow in a professional kitchen is what matters most.
