Spier Wine Farm, one of Stellenbosch's most visited wine estates, is seeking a waiter for our Eight restaurant and outdoor courtyard dining area.
Spier is a working wine farm with five restaurants, a hotel, and an arts programme, offering a unique career in a beautiful setting.
Role overview:
• Table service for 60-80 covers per sitting
• Wine service and food pairings using our estate wines
• Interaction with local and international guests
• Assist with outdoor functions and picnic setups during peak season
Requirements:
• Previous restaurant experience preferred but not essential, we train
• Passion for wine and food
• Comfortable on your feet all day
• Reliable transport to Stellenbosch
Seasonal staff may be considered for this role with a view to permanent placement.

Pros: The sustainability focus makes this a purposeful place to work, you feel like your work means something. The estate is beautiful and management genuinely cares about staff wellbeing. Real management development.
Cons: Spier can be overwhelming in peak season. Multiple restaurants operating simultaneously requires strong coordination.

Pros: Excellent wine education and tasting notes training. Spier's wine range is broad so you become knowledgeable fast. Guests are enthusiastic about wine which makes it enjoyable.
Cons: December tourist season is relentless with back-to-back tastings. Weekends are extremely busy.

Cons: Remote from Cape Town. Supply logistics from the farm kitchen occasionally creates challenges.
